    Brown water in bathtub
    HI... my bathtub filled up with brown water this morning... I emptied it, filled it again with cold water it was brown. Emptied it and filled it again with only hot water, it was clear. There was also a short period where the pipes rattled. Our home is 30 years old.

    Do you have city water or well and what are your pipes made from copper, PVC, galvanized or what? Thanks.

    Oh - my daughter called - they have brown water too! I guess it's a City issue... thank you John.

    Is the main line from the meter to the house copper t or it is Galvanize?
    How are the other faucets and the toilet tanks in the house are the water coming clear or brown?
    When was the last time that you flushed your water heater?
