    Old renovation coming through foundation
Hello. I was wondering if someone might have some advice for me. Last year we bought a home that was built in 1950. At some point a previous owner added a mudroom (which is used as a storage and laundry room). I know that it has been there at least 15+ years because the owners we bought from said it was there when they bought it. Before the renovation the back door led to steps out into the back yard. The renovation covered the steps and there was a concrete foundation laid to lead out to a patio. When we bought the house (as is) there was a hump in the floor of the mudroom and over the year the linoleum that is there has started to crack, I think the old top step may be coming through the floor, is that what is happening and what can we do to fix it!

    Thanks for any advice.

A little confusing here Is the old step covered over with concrete and the vinyl? Bang on that spot and see if it sounds real solid.
To help better I need to have more details and what is the concrete foundation? Is the slab floor to the mud room or does this room actually have a block foundation with floor joist for the floor or was it poured as a solid concrete floor with vinyl over that.
