    How to wire a ceiling fan with three sets of wires coming out of the ceiling?

    Are there 3 wires (red, black,white) or 3 sets of (3 black, 3 white)

    The 3 wires are likely green, white and black, right? The green is your ground and there should be a ground wire in the fan or a ground screw to accept that wire. White is neutral and goes to the white of the fan and then black to black. This fan appears to not have a light, or at least a separate light that can be switched without the fan being on. What fixture used to be attached to this ceiling box?
