    Wiring problem
I have central air conditioning. The outside unit continues to have a problem with the wiring. Every few weeks the compressor stops working and when I look for the problem, I find one or more wires are burnt out at the connectors. The wires burnt out are either at the compressor or are wires coming off the condenser. I will replace the wire connectors and within a few weeks the problem will reoccur. There was one occasion where this problem caused the 30 amp fuses to blow.

The wires are burning wither due to loose conections, bad contacts, or overload of amps. Troubling shooting will require you to inspect all connections and tighten as necessary, may need to replace any bad contacts, and use an amp probe to measure the amp draw, and compare to the nameplate ratings of the motors.
