    wiring schematic for ritetemp 6030
Now that I have removed the switch cover, I am now attempting to remove the wiring and put the new thermostat (ritetemp 6030). The problem is that I have 6 wires coming from the wall and the instructions don't have a 6 wire heat/pump - aux heat wiring schematic. The show a 5 wire schematic but that leaves the black wire that is currently connected to the X1 spot without a connection. There isn't a X1 connection on the new thermostat either. The connections on the new thermostat are from L - R:

What are the terminal designations on the old thermostat? Left to right does not matter.

    Wire as follows (old-new): R-Rh (with jumper to Rc), W2-W, Y-Y, G-G, O-O, X1-C. Remaining terminals unused.

OK. I wired it per your instructions. The jumper positions are a bit confusing, I am also not sure how to jump the rh to rc. (a small wire from one terminal to the next?)

Usually the thermostat will come with a jumper already present between Rc and Rh. If not, simply add one with a small piece of wire. Are there other jumpers you are unsure of?

There is no jumper already there between Rc and Rh. The instructions refer to jumper settings for either a oil heater or electric. There are connections next to the wire connecting points. They are numbered 1 - 5, with 1 &2 on left and 3-5 on the right. They have what appear to be either a purple or black plastic fuse like looking plug in each spot. The instructions refer to the jumpers but it doesn't explain it very thoroughly.

    Thanks again.
