Blood Test has confused me
Ok so I went and got the blood test. And they said its too early which I argued about haha because my last period was November 21 2008 The boy did what he did On December 9th and no period. So I went January 6th and they said its still to early so they did the test anywayz. Well they said the test was negative but the HGC or watever it is it measures was not low enough to say fully negative but its not High enough to be positive and for me to wait out this month and see.. So what does this mean ? I thought the blood test would give me a for sure answer but they tell me to wait ? Someone help!

It sounds as though they did what is called a quantitative blood test. Which basically means it measured the quantity (amount) of HCG in your blood. Now, when we are pregnant that hormone increases drastically during the first 3 months. If it is low, as yours seems to be, we cannot give you a definitive diagnosis of pregnancy until the hormone reaches a certain level. It seems that your hormone levels are not high enough to diagnose pregnancy at this point.
Pregnancy is all a waiting game and, unfortunately, you are going to have to wait this out. |
