    Garnishment of Wages
I received notice today that I was being garnished for a car I owed on. I talked to the person at work who handles this and she said the amount the state allows is 25%, my question is: Is it 25% per paycheck (paid 2 times a month) or is it 25% total for the month? Also can VA disability and Military Retirement pay be taken?

Most likely, 25% per pay period. You can be garnished at work and possibly your bank account; bank garnishments can take everything in the bank that is owed to you. VA and retirement pay is probably protected by state law; what state?
