    Emergency heat, Did I cause damage?
    I switched my trane heat pump wreathertron thermostat from normal to Emergency heat, Did I cause damage and I want to change it back to normal can I safely? May I have several responses? Are there links for manuals for me to print one?

    The emergency heat selection just changes the equipment usage/staging to the auxiliary heat source only. Under normal circumstances there is no reason why it would cause system damage. Returning to the normal heating mode can be done at any time provided that the emergency mode was not selected due to a problem with the heat pump.

    You did not do any damage to your unit. You can switch back and forth (provided you wait at least 5 minutes so compressor pressures can equalize) any time without damaging the system.

    I would need a thermostat model # to guide you the correct manual, same thing on your heat pump model number would be required.
