Fan Auto function not working with emergency heat
My heat pump outside unit is out and I switched over to emergency heat on my thermostat. The heat comes on but the fan will not work in AUTO mode, I have to run the Fan in ON mode. Do you know what my problem might be?

    Outside unit:

My outside unit had a wire that was corroded/burned in to. I connected it back together and turned my breaker back on. The outside unit fan is turning very slowly and there is a clicking noise every now and then. I didn't turn on the heat at the thermostat. I was afraid to after the fan started turning. I turned the breaker back off and will wait on a service man.

It is a good possibility that the fan is no longer controlled since you are experiencing other heat pump problems. Let the fan blow with the switch to on for now to have heat and when the service person arrive have him look into that problem also.
