    Air in House Water Lines
I have well water with a submersible pump. Not sure of the well or pump depth. This morning when I went to take a shower, there was a lot of air in the water lines - both hot & cold and in all faucets. I've never had this problem before except when the water system was opened for filter replacement (which wasn't recently done).

I ran the faucets for a short time 5-15 seconds and things got back to normal. Perhaps this is a one time occurrence (which I doubt). What would cause this? Would similar symptoms occur if the bladder in the storage tank ruptured? Thanks

No! Air can get in your lines only if the pump were sucking air, either from a low water table or a leak in the suction line. If the problem persists calla a pump man to diagnose the problem. Good luck, Tom

Well, the same thing happened the next morning. Called the pump & well guys and they found a crack in the PVC pipe 190' down in the well. They pulled the pump, replaced the well pipes and it is working great. Speedball1, thanks you hit the nail directly on the head.

Do the water lines to a water heater have to be vertical? [ 6 Answers ]

Do the water lines to a water heater have to be vertical? I'm thinking of installing an electric water heater so that the flexible connector lines curve toward the side of the closet, where the CPVC water lines would be. That would let me put a small storage shelf above the water heater. Is...

I read the previous question about lines dead, and it just didn't quite apply to my situation. All of my lines are dead, yet the jack in the box outside is functioning. The phone company says it's my problem not theirs, but I can't figure out why all four lines coming out of the box should be...

Air in our Water Lines? Been in the house 4 months.. [ 1 Answers ]

Ok, so we haven't had a problem with our water lines since we moved into our new house over 4 months ago. Last night, I turned on the water (hot & cold) and nothing but air shot out. I bled the lines in the bathroom and kitchen, and even in the wash room. The outside spicket didn't do this. ...
