Why want my 2001 Saturn start.
The automatic door opener will not work. The gas gage will not work. The gas tank is half full. The lights work fine. It sounds like it wants to start but dies. Regulator seems to be fine. I am writing this by direction of my son. I do not know what a regulator is. Could the fule pump cause all these problems? Car started when ether was injected into in the intake.

. Ensure battery is fully charged.

. Clean battery terminals and cables.

. Test all underdash and underhood fuses with a test light or multimeter:

. Turn the ignition switch to ON. Can you hear the fuel pump in the gas tank run?

    . Change fuel filter:

Most fuel pumps are very reliable. If the fuel pump does not run, most of the time it's a problem with getting power to the pump; i.e. bad fuse or relay.
