    Broken Ceiling Fan Pull Chain
Well first let me say hello, my name is DK and I'm new to the site. Last night I was pulling on my ceiling fan pull chain to turn on my fan when the chain came clean out. This morning I opened up the fan to see if I could just reattach the pull chain, the black box it was connected to was hollowed out (I assume there was something in it) and there was no where to attach said chain. Bottom line I am new to home repair and I have no idea what I need to do to fix this, but I do know I need to. The fan is running and my wife is already steamed about that (since it's below 40F outside). I don't want to buy a new fan but what can I do?

Replacing the chain (and switch) is easy but you have to find the right replacement. What make is the fan?
