My baseboard heat is about 25 years old . Each room with its own thermostat . I want to replace with something better but cannot properly I d what I have now . The only thing I can find on it is the # 859M. Does this ring a bell with anyone?

The current thermostat does not let me regulate temp. (probably bad!! )So I replaced it with a new one First thermostat has four wire but only two are used. There are only two wires in the wall. I put in a new thermostat. Had it down to 50(so it was off) also has a switch for off it was off also....

I am installing a 220V Hydrosil baseboard heater. It came with no thermostat, so I bought one locally that is rated for 220V. I am not an electrician.
