    Ear piercing care for cartilagde
 okay well yesterday me and my best friend got our cartiladges pierced and I'm not to sure about how to best prevent infection and complete the healing process succefully. The actually piercing process wasn't painful but today it is burning quite bad and I definalty can't sleep on it. How long till I can? I have my lower ear lopes pierced but I've herd cartildage is quite different. Plus I have swimming in a couple of days at school. Should that be a miss?
Please give me advice and care instructions for the best outcome.
    Thanks :)

Did they give you any ear care liquidy stuff? If yes, use that often. If no, dab a little hydrogen peroxide/alcohol/other antiseptic on with a qtip and turn the earring every day. Don't touch it too much! Swimming shouldn't be a problem. It will probably be a week or two before you can sleep on that side of your head comfortably. The whole healing process should take 2-3 months on cartilage.

It would be risky to go swimming with a new piercing, with all of the bodies and germs and such in the water...

If I were you I would post this in the Body Art section. The Body Art expert will be able to tell you more about it.
