    Finding biological parents
I am 22 years old and found out I was adopted at age 18. I am happy with my parents and love my life, but I am still a little bit curious as to what my biological parents are like. You know, so I can see what traits I got from them. How do I go about doing this without having to pay a huge fee?

You get as much information as you can from your adoptive parents regarding your birth and adoption.

You can then leave letters at the courthouse where your adoption was formalized and at the adoption agency used.

You also should register on reunion boards at adoption.com, adoption.org and ISSR

The more information you are able to post on reunion boards, the more likely you are to find a match with your birthparents.

Each state is very different on the information that they will give you. And most have very steep fees for the process that you might have to go through with courts, and sometimes appointed custodians etc...

As a person who is adopted I can understand the curiosity that sometimes is overwhelming. I also have met my birthparents (who found me through adoption.com; confirmed DNA) and while the meeting satisfied my questions, If I was to do it again... personally I wouldn't. Nothing was wrong with them, I just realized that my apathy wasn't fair to a family that loved me and wanted a relationship when I didn't feel those things back. And now I really resent them for what I feel is intruding on my life with my family.

Not everyone feels this way though. Just make sure that your ready to deal with anything that might come about! Good Luck!

Bingo, that is the reason you want to find them, I wish you good luck,

What do you know, you have to come up with the names just to start.
