Boiler overheats water and does not cycle off
I have a HBSmith Boiler, I have not had it turned on for at least a year and a half, at that time I also turned off the water ( the water is high in iron and there is some sediment) to the boiler , I heat with wood but need boiler for the holidays. Temperature goes to over 200 degrees and does not turn off however it does circulate. Is there a temperature control switch that I can adjust? I also noticed, it may not make a difference , the top of the expansion tank gets red hot. I need the Boiler for the Holiday or all my plants will die, my pipes will freeze and break, the basement will flood and the house will float away.
