    Wireless Keeps Dropping
I use Verizon DSL and have the Westall Modem with a Linksys router. The Westall modem is wired directly to a HP PC and the Linksys router. The signal strength received shows as excellent but the connection to our laptop(s) keeps on dropping. The wireless network is using WPA security and MAC. Any suggestions on how to correct problem so the connection won't drop?

I hate to ask the simple question first but have you cycled the power on your wireless router?

WPA TKIP - Personal is good. You mentioned MAC. Are you also MAC address filtering on your router? I would remove that since you are using good security practices already. You can also hide your SSID of your wireless router as well. This is case sensitive so you will have to type in your SSID correctly.

Yes, we have cycled the router. We attempted to review the issues but now have lost the wireless network. Still have connectivity via the Westall Modem, but no wireless. Since the wireless kept dropping now considering going with the ActionTec Wireless DSL Gateway/Starter Kit for Verizon (AEI GT704WGV) to replace existing. Can this be done with little hassle?
