    PC hardrive won't work
Hey my PC is playing up and need some help. When I have the PC connected to a power supply and then switch it on at the back of the PC, it makes a whistling noise that becomes lower or deeper then stops. This happens every time I switch the power button on and off. I have taken the back off it and notice a light coming on for a split second on 1 of the cip boards. The mother board I'm assumin! Also whilst I have been footering around it has tripped the system a few times! I have tried different power lead and it's the same! I'm guessing a dodgy component? What ido know as you can see is that there is power getting to it! I'm not very tech savvy, any help would be appreciated. Doing this on my ps3, takes ages! Lol

I don't get it, are you saying the only problem is that your power supply inside the case of your PC is making a whistling noise?

If that's the only problem try cleaning it with compressed air...

If you are new as stated, be certain your purchase a ground strap that connects you wrist to the frame of the computer before you start playing inside the unit. Static electricity can destroy chips. Also, never work on the internals of a power supply unit with the power on.

Lastly, make sure that any fans you find inside the PC are clean. Dirty fans will make noise while they are trying to run. They also fail to cool the system properly.
