    Grounding a ceiling light
I need to hang a ceiling light to a terminal box mounted on a side wall close by. The chandalier has the usual two wires and a copper ground. I can wire the wires to the terminal box on the wall. Do I attach the ground from the chandalier to the bar on the terminal box on the wall? The instructions also say that there should be a ground from the terminal box also but I cannot see one. That's the bit that is confusing me. Thanks!

The cable coming into the junction box on the wall should have a bare copper wire. Check to see if this copper wire is connected/screwed to the junction box.
If it is, you can connect the ground wire from the light to the junction box, which I assume is metal.
If it is not metal, then you connect the ground wire on the light to the bare copper wire in the junction box.
