    I Want to change my child last name. I don't know where the other parent is.wsh

    Have you tried to find them, is there a child custody order in place. Does the other parent pay child support

    To legally change a child's name requires a court order. Which means you should get an attorney to prepare the petition. The attorney will advise how to get around not having the father's permission.
