Kenmore Heavy Duty washer water leakage?
It would be wonderful if anyone can help. I have and old Kenmore heavy duty
Washer, Model#c1104430081 canadian model. Problem starts as washer becomes full of water, leakage seems to occur between washer basin(if that's
The correct term?) and adjacent metal connector. Leakage increases on agitation and is most profound on spin. I have checked all hoses and that doesn't seem to be the source. Is there a type of gasket between the basin tank and the metal connector? or any other possibilities? Thanks if anyone can help.

This must be pretty old, as the model number no longer appears to be a valid choice to see what design it is. If it's that old, it's probably the old belt drive washer. What is the adjacent metal connector you referred to? You may not know what to call it, but maybe you can describe to me where you see it; such as from under the machine, in which corner, etc. It's also likely the outer tub has rusted through due to age.

Thanks for your response applguy. The washer is the old "wig wam" system that is belt driven. I made a call to an appliance technician and his suggestion was that the center seal had expired or what you suggested, the outer tub had rusted through which would not make sense to replace the center seal. On that note, not bad for a 26yr old machine. I guess its time to hit the modernized disposable appliance market. Thanks anyway!
