How to dye a canvas type fabric?
I have a very weathered seat and sun canopy from an older jogging stroller. The fabric is similar to what you'd fine on folding camp chairs. It is blue but is faded (some places more than others).

I'd like to re-new the color.

1.) What kind of dye should I use? There may be some sort of waterproofing, will that effect the type of dye I can use?

2.) If I re-dye it blue will it take care of the uneven color? Or should I dye it a darker color like navy blue or black?

3.) Could I use a bleach solution to even out the fading first before dyeing? If I wanted a lighter color?

    Thanks

    Hi, rvenzon!

Since your question really wasn't so much about crafts but concerning a piece of furniture, I moved it to this topic area in the hopes that it will get more exposure to those who are best able to answer it.

It probably will be more likely to be addressed by people here.

    Thanks!
