    Quadratic Equations
    The length of a rectangle is 2 m more than the width. The area of the rectangle is 20 m^2. Find the dimensions of the rectangle to the nearest tenth of a meter.

    You really need to learn these karebear. Whatever you are doing, homework or what-not, asking here and getting the answers given to you isn't going to help you on tests.

    If width = X, the length = X + 2

    Use that.

    karebear11, you need to know your formulae.

    Area = Length x Breadth
    Perimeter = 2(Length + Breadth)

    Then to help you, a sketch is always welcomed. Once you got the trend, you will be able to picture it in your mind and do it quicker. Then, you'll be able to do it even faster! Without any picture. I will say no more, but if you have more problems, try them out, and post it together with your question if you have doubts. Then, we'll try to help you the way we should.
