Too many variables and not enough to go on. Does it click at all? Do the lights come on if there are any? I'd suspect a loose wire first. I've got that problem on a cub rider. Every now and then, until I changed the clip, it'd work it's way loose and I'd get nothing. Look very closely for a wire near the starter coming off.. and it could be a very small wire. Check safety wires and switches too.. Do you know that the brake switch is working? If not, it won't allow starting. You've got a circuit diagram in the book that'll show you where to check it all.. good luck.
