Need replacement fader speed switch for ceiling fan
I have an old ceiling fan that has a three way pull string switch which is working properly(1. off,2. High, and 3. current to a rotary speed control switch). The speed control switch is broken. I have not been able to find a new switch as there is not a manufacturer's name on the switch, however it has several numbers. They are 137(underlined), 8145, 5017-0003-000. Can anyone tell me where to find a replacement switch?

Ok, you mention a rotary switch and a pullchain. Which one do you need to replace?

Should be available at any Home Center or Hardware Store. What make/model is the fan?

You can replace/fix the pullchain too, see the link above.

I replaced 2 hunter fan pull switches. They are the double stacked switch similar to the 5-8 wire fan switch at Lowe's #33906. I cut one wire at a time and correctly inserted into correct numbered hole per stack. My fan works but not correctly as it only has two speeds. They both operate the...

Ceiling fan speed switch [ 2 Answers ]

I have a ceiling fan that is approximately 20 years old. I took out the speed control switch, and thought I remembered where the wires went. The switch has two holes per connection. It has Line, 1 2, 3. Apparently I didn't put the wires back correctly. I only get two speeds - high and low. There...
