Planning some remodeling. Main breaker panel, currently within five feet of the meter, may be moved approximately 12 feet due to the size of the panel and framing considerations. A listed service disconnect will be placed at the old panel location, and rigid used from meter to disconnect. Question is, what type of conduit is permissible/acceptable FROM the disconnect TO the panel, rigid or EMT? Thanks

Depending on your local requirements, you can use:
1) Rigid metal. This would be crazy though for practical reasons.
2) EMT. Not as bad but still a PIA when working with pipe that big.
3) PVC. Definitely MUCH easier as far as installation goes.
4) SER cable. Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner!

Unless forced to by local code amendments I would not use anything but SER cable.
