    Sears tractor not charging
    Voltage from altenator is 14 volts. Where do I hook this wire to charge the battery?

    If it is DC and positve(which it should be,) then to the positive side of the battery.

    Hi,
    Then it is not a charging system wire. My guess would be that it is an ignition ground. Charging usually red; ignition ground often white or yellow.

My craftsman lt1000 tractor does not charge. The ampmeter is showing only discharging. I assume it's the stator, or diode, or regulator, or whatever. How do I go abouit finding out which? For instance do I ohm out the stator to see if there's continuity? Some help here please. Thanks much.
