Voltage from altenator is 14 volts. Where do I hook this wire to charge the battery?

If it is DC and positve(which it should be,) then to the positive side of the battery.

    Hi,
Then it is not a charging system wire. My guess would be that it is an ignition ground. Charging usually red; ignition ground often white or yellow.
