    2002 Ford Explorer finding starter
    I have a 2002 ford explorer and need help finding the starter to replace it...

    Be certain to disconnect the battery cables at the battery before beginning repairs and set the parking brake firmly.

    The starter is mounted to the engine's left side, low and towards the rear of the engine, near the transmission.

    If you have obtained a replacement already, take a good look at it and look for it's match on the engine.

    The positive battery cable will lead you to it.
