How do I get rid of this habit?
Hi, I am 26 yr. old housewife, who is very much into watching porn. Previously, it was only for the sake of knowledge (for my marriage) but now, it seems that I am addicted to this. When my husband is in office, I only watch porn at net, sometimes whole day even (as I am alone at home). I want to get rid of it, please guide me...

Comment on givememychild's post
"smack yourself in the face" is not an accurate answer for this question concerning addiction.

Hi Veena,
there are 3 ways to get out of this:
1) Talk to your man about your sex-life.
I guess he probably wishes the same as you do. (Amazing sex
that really satisfies both of you).
... COULD be that he is not able to give you what men in porn
pretend do be able to.
(... You know what I'm talking about... – 45 min. of 'full penetration',
totally exhausted & satisfied women etc etc.. . )
2) Find a way to any wound(s) in your past.
Psychologists found that every addict has lived through something
that – unconsciously – makes her / him feel powerless or somehow
'weak' in any other way.
(These 'wounds' can be a lost relationship, death of a family member
etc. – all kinds of loss).
You can either talk to a psychologist about that or get knowledge from
some books, as for example 'The Master Key System' of Charles F.
Haanel. (This book is about self control mostly... well,. and some other
very useful things).
3) As a first step you can use some "parental filters" to simply not
letting your computer go to these sites. There are several products
available. If you use a Windows PC you can get some for free!
Just type "parental filter" or even "porn blogger" "+ free" in any
search engine.
=> I'd really recommend talking to your man, first!
Maybe you're right now running into a period of your life to get a
real exiting sex-life with the one you love..
... As you may know men love 'porn phantasies', too.
Well, indeed that's even more often the case then as with women.
I know what you're replying right now (in 99% of all cases this happens):
"No, MY husband doesn't! – He's not into porn. He likes 'normal' sex ... "
... Forget about that! EVERY man likes to have 'wild' sex from time to time.
(Most want it that way all the time but are not able to share these wishes
with their partners.)
- -
... So there is some kind of 'bridge' life is building for you.
Now, go across that bridge & you'll be able to live an even better life
WITH (probably 'new'?. ) sex. –... And I'm talking about REAL
sex not phantasies that just control your mind and always feed the never
ending fire of lust.
... Sex is SATISFYING. – Porn is not.
Get sex back, instead of porn.
I bet your husband will be glad to 'help' you when you're able to 'reach'
him the right way! (And to reach a man concerning sex... come on that's
an easy issue, isn't it... )
Good luck from Berlin.

Anyone With Any Intelligence Can Figure Out That I Wasn't Actually Telling This Woman To Smake Herself In The Face... It's Called A Metaphor. The Point, Since You Yoursefl Can't Figure It Out, Was To Inform The Woman That "she" Is The One That Has To Stop.

"sometimes whole day even (as I am alone at home). "
Before delving headlong into complete Freudian analysis and opening volumes on the nature of your possible problem and the manifold treatments for "addictions,"
... pehaps you might try finding something else to do with all the time you are spending at home alone... like be with friends, volunteer work, etc.
Keep it simple
Good luck!

You may be going through a phase because you don't have anything worthwhile to do... Time to organize your life with positive hobbies, sports, altruistic deeds(serving your community), intellectual pursuits, those sorts of things. Things that make you proud to be the woman you are. You can actually 'get turned' on to life and get a positive sexual buzz which is healthy. :)
IF you find you cannot leave the porn alone for 30 consecutive days on the first try, then you most likely have developed an addiction in a short period. You may need help with this.
Good Luck in building a positive life!

Please pray! And ask God to help you stop watching porn.
Or do anything productive. Go outside! Read a book outside your house or to anywhere that you aren't alone.
Download an antiporn and make a password that's full of numbers and letters that you wouldn't memorize and keep it hidden. Or bury it. You can do it just believe in yourself.
