    How to evict someone?
My grandmother owns a summer home in Michigan. My mother remarried about 2 years ago. My mother's new husband decided he was going to keep a lot of his personal belongings at the summer house for storage and also so he could work on his race car he is building. He does have mail coming to the summer house and he does live there approx 6mo out of the year. No utility bills are in his name and he has not given my grandmother a dime for any bills like he has promised over the past 2 years. He has decided that he wants a divorce from my mother and is now threatening my grandmother that if she does not give him $5,000 for all the work that he has done at the house (which has been worked that he wanted to do, nothing she asked him to do) that "bad things are going to happen". She said she's not giving him anything. All the work that was done, was work he wanted to do and he has been living there rent/bill free for the past 2 years. No money is due to him. He is refusing to leave the house.

What can she do to evict him from her house?

She has to go to Court in her town in Michigan and evict him according to Michigan Law AND call the Police and notify them of his threats.

Maybe he'll countersue. Maybe he'll sue first. Either way, it's her word against his.
