Little cool air is coming out of the vent's
On Saturday our central air unit was working all morning until about 3 in the afternoon. We notice it was hot in the house and the temp. said 81 degrees. We shut it off and went outside where the unit is and checked to see if anything was blocking the unit. We noticed that the white pipe has frost on it. We ketp it off for about 4 hour's and then turned it back on, it seemed to be blowing out stronger than before but not at full capacity. Then it slowed down again. Keep in mind that cool air was still coming out just very, very little, not enough to bring the temp down. It seem's like when we shut it off for awhile and then turn it back on it blow's out more and then slows down again. When it's on I went outside to see if the fan is blowing and it was and the furnace was on, so I don't know what else to check. I looked at the furnace and notice that their was water on these very thin copper wires that's connected to the pipe that runs to the unit and the drain on the cement floor which a white pipe is connected to the drain had a very little water going into the drain. My husband think's that water is supposed to drain like any other airconditioner.

    Thank's,

    Joann

Sounds as if the inside coil is frosting over is the reason for the poor air low out of the registers. If that is happening you will also not have the water dripping out of the drain. The cause can be a leak in refrigerant poor air flow(indoro fan or outdoor not funning to full speed) If your filter is dirty it will cause thes symptons. Also if the indoor or out door coils are dirty you will have the same symptoms. Start by looking at your filter
