    Hampton Bay ceiling fan poltergeist
    Ceiling fan trouble shooting;

    Recently purchased a Hampton Bay ceiling fan - great product for about two months now; however, in the last couple days or so the light mysteriously turns on and the fan speed drops every three minutes or so - even though the remote unit does not show that the light is on. When the light is disconnected at the fan unit, instead of the light turning on every three minutes, the fan cuts out every three minutes.
    Checked and rechecked that the wiring was correct, have replaced the entire fan for a new one but the problem persists. Any thoughts?

    Sounds like RF interference. Try changing the frequency of the fan and remote. Basic instructions are here:
