    Legality of putting stop- payment on a cheque.
    Hello,

    My name is Victor. I'm in Toronto,Ontario, Canada.

    My question is this. Can someone write a cheque for services knowing full well that they are simply going to go to the bank and put a stop payment on it?

    If they put a stop payment on a valid payment for services, then that is theft of service and is a crime.
