    Does alcohol affect weight loss? You hear about having a beer belly, but then I have also heard it doesn't affect you, what you eat while drinking is what affects you.

    Premixed drinks have a very high sugar content and are just like drinking a soda (is that what americans call them I call them soft drinks) whereas straight alcohol ie:vodka has virtually no fat sugar etc content. Beer is full of carbohydrates, and I think (not sure) wine is too.
