Hi. So I had my first boyfriend when I was 13 we were together for over a year, and we we're insuperable, we did everything together, had amazing times, and I lost my virginity to him, we we're Very Very close. He was like a best friend and a boyfriend at the same time. Now in my opinion we we're in love. But a lot of people said "I was to young to know what love is." I believe anyone at any age can be in love, But I was very young, and ending up cheating on him, we got in a lot of fights over the time we were dating and then we finally decided to call it quits. It's been almost 4 years since we've been together, and Now we've started talking again and hanging out a bit more, and I've started to notice that I might still love him. Like everyone says you never get over you're first love. My best friend says we're meant to be together. But I really have no idea. Me and him talk about old times and how we use to be a lot. But he always says that we'd never date again. Yet he seems to be a little flirty with me and I think he might still like me to, but I have no idea what to do, I'm scared to tell him how I feel, cause if he doesn't feel the same way it would start to get very awkward, or I'm scared he might take advantage of the fact that I still love him and maybe use me. I have no idea. Help?

You are wise to be cautious at this point, and should go very slow, and don't do anything that makes you feel uncomfortable.

You have both grown, and changed, and you need to recognize that your unsure with your own feelings, and he might be also, so don't expect the world to stop while you sort through things, and don't get to emotionally invested because of your past.

Whether there is a chance for something, even friendship, remains to be seen, so don't just rush into anything blindly. He was your best friend before, but that doesn't mean he is now. Your not 13 anymore, so think of your long-term interest, before you follow your heart, or give him your complete trust.

You do need to be cautious AND DO NOT cross or haze up the friends boundary. IF you do he will think you are easy and he will not trust you. Keep it as friends and you can confide in him and tell him stuff like {as long as it is the truth} You know I really see how young and dumb I was messing up before. I am glad I have grown up and value relationships more now. I see that it is important to never cheat and to love your mate like they are the most meaningful person in your life... "
DO NOT be wishy washy and flip flop like saying stuff that make it sound like you have a crush on some other guy.
