I hate those little suckers.
Another box they don't carry in south Florida anymore is the cutin box that has 1 screw in the center, you cut a rectangular hole, not a rectangular hole with the offset ears. You push box into place, tighten the center screw, its done, faster AND stronger. They buy the cheapest crap, sell for the most money. There is a limit of cheap or weak that I will go.
I still only need the answer for the 3 gang box, with ears attached, no separate mudring, I want to find the metal one, NOT plastic.
Thanks

Washington, I never got to thank you on another post.
Are you saying now, one has them in stock, in stock anywhere? No one makes them anymore. Then
CHINA, please make a 3 gang electrical box as I described, They are great when you could use the extra room, and they don't look like crap. Suppliers have turned spineless and prefer to sell crap for a lot of money.
Thanks anyone.

I can't speak for every jurisdiction, but based on my supplier (three of them), they do not make them ( 3 gang remodel metallic). I would go with gangables---if metal is your preference.
By the way, we do not need any other products from China! :)

Strat, do you really need the ears? Won't a mason box work?
I thought someone even sold ears to be used on any box.
Hmmmm, how about just adding ears to a mason box?
And Hear,hear W!

Adding your own ears is just half the battle. Now you need to keep the box from falling out. I don't believe battleships will work with the mason box.

Hey thanks All, Looks like a Concrete box will have to do. I will keep looking, Thanks again. The Gangable just doesn't have the volume.
May have been confusion created on my part. I am calling the metal part that is folded over tapped to 6-32 for the device, ears.
For the concrete box, or the original I am looking for will be attached by fir strip slid between drywall and block.

Strat, I think I know what your looking for, the stamped metal 3 gang box, like the picture I provided, but with old work box ears. I looked best I could, cannot find any exactly what I think you want, Raco, Steelcity, Bowers etc. Remember, what with the big fish eating the little fish, there are only a few major manufacturers nowadays.
And what with so much nonmetallic, and other available solutions. I am sure the makers stopped making some of the lesser popular products.
Why not gangable? You said they don't have the volume. There are 3.5 inch deep old work boxes readily available. How much room do you need, and why would a stamped one piece, have more?
It is not because you are old fashioned and still want things like the old days?

I presume that an "old work box" and Madison straps would not work for you.

Thanks TK, That's the box exactly, It's a personal thing, I think they look better, more professional.
Owner changed switching arrangements, and no longer need now, but do want to find a couple now for future, Thanks again.
Plus the gangable sometimes will not allow a device to be tightened to wall, ln turn, not allow plate to contact wall?

Yep , stubborn old coot, sign of a true professional and craftsman.
OK everyone, round up these boxes, and let's negotiate with Strat.
With a large EC behind me, I can make a call to T&B directly, how many skids do you want?
