Cauda Equina does it effect the liver
I have recently suffered from Acute Cauda Equina and had surgery. Just before my diagnosis I had a blood test and it came back with slightly raised liver levels. I then had another test after surgery and the levels had raised again. I have had a liver ultra sound and it shew that my liver was brighter than normal, the person who carried out the scan said it was likely due to fatty liver. Could this be due to side effects of Cauda equina?

I had my surgery for Acute Cauda Equina Syndrome(CES) back in July 2000. I also have been diagnosed with fatty liver this year. Fatty liver is caused by your diet, it is the build up of fat in the liver. It is reversible. I belong to a support group for CES on line. We discuss CES openly in every aspect. You can go to Cauda Equina Syndrome Support Group where there is a website on CES to find more information and help. I am not a Doctor.
