Turning on old fashion outside water spigots
We have well water, and have old outside water spigots. The kind that is a pipe coming up from the ground with a pump lever on top. They are several feet away from the house. We can not get any water to flow through them. I have looked in the crawl space and do not see a water valve to turn on. How do I turn them on? Where do I look for a value?

These are called hydrants. They shut off the water below ground and drain the pipe up to the head, therefore they do not freeze. They may be connected to the well piping directly and not have cut off valves. You probably service them by removing the head from the pipe. Turn off well pump and drain pressure from tank.
