    Terra Cotta Pipe
We have recently bought a new house. Our area was suffering from a drought when we actually bought it. Once we began receiving rain we discovered there is a natural spring on the lot next door to us. Our neighbors and I have been dealing with developer trying to get this issue solved. They have dug down and located the terra cotta piping. When digging the ditch the piping was disturbed so the water is coming to the top creating a terrible mess with mud, etc. They are now trying to repair it with plastic like piping. They tried to attach the coupling with glue, spray foam, and have now taped the tubing together. Some water is now coming out over the top of the terra cota pipe. Can someone tell me how this terra cotta pipe issue should be handled? I have asked they repair it permanently rather than put a band-aid on the problem. As you can tell I am not voiced in plumbing so I hope this info helps you understand the problem.

Can any body sing, "M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E ? I guess Duct Tape still rules!
Have they tried No-Hub Bands or shielded couplings,(see images) to transition from clay to plastic? Regards, Tom

Thank you Speedball! I just went outside and they are now digging up the ground beside my driveway saying the water is draining there and they are going to try to reattach the drainage pipe. Tell me how you would handle this as I think I am about to run them off my property. I'm going to see if I can locate a professional to come out and tell me what needs to be done.

I would use a No-Hub Coupling to convert to PVC from Terra-Cotta Pipe. Why are they making the job so difficult? Am I missing something here? Cheers, Tom
