Okay, first of all, I realize how paranoid I got. I've come back from not thinking and now I need help.
I have never had sex before this year. (I just turned 38 and for reasons from my past, I've just been scared--both emotionally and also because of lack of information-- to be that close to someone). I had sex for the first and only time in Feb. and after being scared that I could be pregnant (even though I was on BC pills), I stopped having vaginal sex. My boyfriend and I were trying anal sex. I know that there is minimal risk of pregnancy. I got off the BC pills in March because they were doing a number on my hormones. Since then, my cycle has been 23 days. Usually I have a four day period, but this past June, it was an 8 day period. We had unprotected anal sex (a condom is now used) a couple of times. The first time, I was scared and took EC. A few days later, we were about to have anal sex, but he entered my vaginal area (June 10th) and I stopped. I got worried and again, bought EC. I took it within five days of each other. Before you can type it...I know...stupid. Anyway, I haven't had a period at all. I have been having occasional cramps, and discharge (most of the time it's been clear..a couple of times, it was brownish). It's now, July 14th and I still haven't had a period and now, my nipples are really sore. I had a doctor's appt. on the 30th of June (the day that I should have started my period) and she ran a pregnancy test. It came back negative. This morning, I took an HPT, and that came up negative too. What's going on????? Please be kind. I know I made mistakes.

My guess would be either your system is still regulating off the pill.. even though you were on it a short time. It can take several cycles for this to occur for some women and some women are more sensitive to hormone changes than others. Or... it could be that you are very stressed over the possibility that your body is responding by holding back the possibility of reproduction.
The slight chance of pregnancy from the quick visit to your vagina is always a possibility, but the odds are in your favor that it didn't happen. That, and with the testing you have done, hopefully will ease your mind. Certainly see what happens next month when you would expect your period.

I'll go along with DoulaLc... the pill can take a while to clear through the system in some people which means your monthly cycle takes time to ajust...

Look into a birth control method that is safe and reliable, which will not leave you worried and stressed out every time you have intercourse... that way a lot of the pressure will be lifted from you and your boyfriend making your relationship much more enjoyable for you both...

I think the fact thtat you're obssessing over the issue is what is making it come later than normal. I think you should talk to a counselor about these issues. It's one thing to be cautious, and another thing to be downright obssessive and terrified. And just so you know, you can still get pregnant through having anal sex. Don't think you are totally safe.
