    Gas Furnace Venting Regs - distance from ground
    I need to know the minimum height required from the ground for venting of my high effieciency gas furnace. I am running the vent outside obviously and need to know the minimum height required by the vent for this purpose. Thanks for any help given.

    First look in your instillation manual for your furnace.

    Then make sure it is higher than the snow depth in your area.

    You might also contact your local building department for any local rules because I know you are going to do the right thing and have a inspection of both the furnace and the electric to be safe.

    There is a little more that needs to be known besides height. Distance from window that can be opened. Distance from corner. Distance from another source like a dryer vent. etc.
    This should be in the installation manual.
