    Ceilingfan remotes
    I have two celing fans in my living room running off the same switch can I purchase one universal remote to control both fans?

    Are they both remote control fans? You can in fact use the same existing remote to control both fans if you set the frequencies properly:

We have an older home (built in early 40s). We had a ceiling fan/light where the light was controlled by the wall switch but the fan was controlled by the chain hanging from it. I replaced the ceilingfan with a new Hampton Bay fan. Now, the fan AND the light have nothing to do with the wall...
