Hi,
I am exclusively breastfeeding and my son is now 3.5 months. At month 1 and 2 I got my period on cue around the middle of the month, but this month I only got a dab of blood and then it stopped? I took a pregnancy test but it said negative. Am I pregnant? Should I worry or is this normal? I am not on any birth control. I know not getting your period is normal but is this normal? Thanks

Every women is different, so what is normal for me or someone else, may not be normal for you. I breastfed exclusively with both my kids, with my daughter I did not get a period for 1 1/2 years. You say that you have gotten a period, which means that you are probably ovulating, which means, yes, you could be pregnant.

How late is your period? I would wait a week and test again, or go to the doctor for a blood test to be sure. If the blood test comes back negative, then get your doctor to put you on the pill, that way you have better odds at not becoming pregnant again so soon.

It is pretty normal while breastfeeding to have irregular periods... sometimes I didn't even have a period at all for a few months at a time..
