    Marriage and bankruptcy
    If married can I declare bankruptcy on old debt in my name only without affecting or involving my spouse.

    For the most part, yes. You can file an individual petition but you must disclose that you are married and you may have to disclose his income. Some additional information: Can I File Bankruptcy Without Involving My Spouse?
