Uncertainty with what to do next in terms of career
    Hey.
Recently I've been very unsure about what to do with my life. I've just finished university, after studying forensic science for 3 years, and am probably expecting to get a 2:2 from it.
However during the last couple of years, I started to not enjoy it as well as I thought I would, and have now concluded that it 's not the career that is right for me. During all this time, I have been thinking about other possible career options that I could explore, however the only one that has come to mind and that I have stuck to is Medicine. My father is a doctor, and though people think that I might be investigating it because of him, that is incorrect.
I've been looking at univerisities which teach postgraduate degree levels of medicine, however the majority of them require 2:1 or firsts, and I am not expected those sorts of grades. Also, doubt has been placed in my mind, because prior to starting forensic science, I was very enthusiastic about it, which then ended up to not be what I was wanting. And now I'm worried that despite wanting to study and practice medicine, that during the programme I'll start to not enjoy it. I want to be 100% sure in what I want to do, however I'm a bit stuck.
I'm planning on applying for non medical qualified position in a hostpital for this coming year, so that I have experience, however I want to know that I'll be happy in doing a job, as I'll be working for about 40 years, of which will be a large portion of the day, so I want to know that when I die, I won't look back on my life thinking that 40% of my life was unhappy.

Could you help me please. Exploring other avenues or understanding better what I might be good at.

I enjoy reading, cooking, hanging out with my friends, helping others, travelling. And others. If you would like more specific explanations, then you can just ask.

    Thanks for your help
    Xxxxxx

The only thing sure in life are taxes and death. Most of the rest you can choose and select from.
But why do you expect anyone that does not know you properly to be able to tell or advice you what to do, while you yourself can not figure out what you want to become?

Follow your heart and if you do not know (or are not sure of what to study) than go with the flow, and - while working in a practical way - find new areas that may be of interest to you as an alternative !

    Good luck to you!
