The heating system I have is a one year old mega flow. I have a shower in our en-suite with a victorian mixer valve (again one year old), but what ever temperature you set it at bears no resemblance to the water temperature coming out. Most times it is on the maxium "hot" setting you can get, and you get a luke warm shower.

- The hot water from the basin next to it is very hot, so its not a problem with heating
- turning on the cold tap helps increase the temperature of the shower.
- I have a salt softener for water going into the hot water storage tank.

I have thought about putting a pressure restricter in the cold water line to the en-suite or changing the mixer valve (which obviously is more expensive).
But is there a process I can go through to narrow down what might be causing the problem, particularly with balancing the hot and cold water flows.

At the top of the mixer valve there is a cap. Remove the cap and then with a hex wrench turn the screw to the right to increase the temperature of the hot water.
