    if i sign my rights over?
    OK me and my x have not been together in a whle.I have a son who is almost a year old she will not let me see him I have to pay 400.00 a mon I am in debt! She wants me to sign my rights over if I do so do I still have to pay child support?

    I'd like to point out that parental rights and parental obligation are two very different things. Depending on your state and the judge, you may not be ABLE to sign away your rights, and even if you CAN, that may or may not end child support--but probably won't.

    You're better off fighting to actually be a part of your child's life and actually supporting the kid that YOU helped to bring into the world.

    The bottomline here is a judge is not going to let you out of paying child support. So either a TPR will not be granted (even if you both want it) or it will be granted but you will still be responsible for support.

    Rather than give up on your child, fight for him. Get the court to give you visitation and get it enforced.
