    Wiring A Ceiling Fan
We have put in a ceiling fan w/light kit attached in our kitchen. To set the scene, we have 2 lights, 2 switches plus the ceiling fan (which was a regular light). The switches are 3 way and will turn all the lights on or off. When we wired the fan, we capped of a black and a white and grounded everything. The other wires we wired whites to white, blacks to black, and the black/white to the red. When we turned the power back on this is what happened... the lights in the kitchen come on, the fan works, but... the lights on the fan don't work and the switches no longer work, thus we can't turn the two lights off and only turn the fan off by using the pull cord. What is the deal and how can we fix it?

There were 4 sets of wires in the electric box, if that helps at all.

The circuit appears switch to light to fan/light to light to switch.

    Any help would be awesome!

Any chance you can get us a picture of the ceiling j-box?

Why did you just cap off wires? Were these the wires that went to the original light?

What did you connect the fan to? Do you know where the power source for the original light is, which wires?

Do you remember how the original light fixture was wired? The fan should be wired exactly the same, with the addition of the blue wire connected to the same thing as the black.
