    Overprotective Husky
My dog loves being around other dog but when I come into the picture he seems more alert and sometimes really protective of me. What can I do?

Size: 74.2 KBPLEASE if you have something to say about this meaning my dog is aggressive do not post your answer I see my dog everyday and know that he is a very sweet dog. Do not tell me he is aggressive, all dogs have faults so before you start tearing my dog apart go look at your own and you'll see that your dog isn't perfect either. And no my dog has never bitten another dog.

    Bejeez. Are our dogs twins?

Do you feel like you're a good leader to your dog? It's only natural for some dogs to step in because they don't feel there is a proper 'leader' to defend the pack.

I recommend 'Be the Pack Leader' by Caesar Milan +++ TONS of exercise.

Haven't read the Caesar Milan book, but I agree that Rex sounds like he may have an overinflated opinion of himself. Huskies are a tough breed with a strong survival instinct.
When he starts to get overprotective, I would remind him in a firm voice that you are the boss and will make the decision whether you need protection. If he is obedience trained, have him do a sit or down--submissive posture, deference to you as leader, and gets his mind on something else.
